If it is a private organization, receiving no public funds, then it can do as it pleases.
If a gay boy earns his Eagle, he should get his Eagle.
My scout leader husband has a more liberal viewpoint, which is ironic, considering that I am the one in this relationship that makes us a MOM (mixed-orientation marriage).
I think that if the BSA allows gay leaders and scouts, it will probably be at local discretion. I would imagine that the church would not pull out of scouts in that case.
On the other note, tomorrow will mark three weeks without those intrusive thoughts. Loving that EMDR.
My psychiatrist has decreased my abilify in an attempt to help me stop gaining weight. I feel confident that my brain will not react with bad thoughts.
I like happy brain.

Hey Erin, would your Husband be willing to talk about his views on the record? I am the communications Director at Affirmation and given the impact that the Ban on Gay & Bi Youth (sorry ladies) we are really looking to get in touch with Scout Masters who support inclusion. If he is willing can you have him reach out to me at press@affirmation.org
Thanks,
David Baker

Hi David, I am glad that you stopped by! Even gladder that you commented!
In order for my husband to talk about his views on the record, I think he'd have to use his real name (wouldn't he? just assuming), and if he used his real name, I would be outed, and I can't be anything but anonymous (Erin Whitney is my pseudonym).
take care,
Erin
